So where do you folks get your 10 or 15 gallon drums from.for your charcoal basket...or is there some other bucket type thing you are using?
Is there an actual source or do you just keep an eye out and/or scrounge them up?
I'm finding new open head drums in that size range are 50 bucks or more or galvanized.

Are you talking about the charcoal basket in the UDS?
Yes...I've seen them made from what looks like a 10 gallon drum with 1/2 or 3/4 inch holes; similar to a chimney starter with a grate in the center...the top half is the charcoal basket, the bottom the ash collector.
You fill with charcoal, light it, lower it into the drum...when you're done smoking/cooking you.pull it out, ash and all.
A different UDS group I started following refers to them as BCF or "beer can firebucket."

I used a milk crate and lined the inside with 3/4" expanded metal.
