Damn...as long as I lived in KC, that was one of my favorites (that, and Big T's on Blue Ridge Blvd).

Didn't go there as much as Big T's or Gates, but loved their food.

That cat don't play . I like his shows titled Kitchen Nightmares that was coming on BBC and now comes on Fox 4 in Mesquite Tx .

Some of the best food I've ever had has been in some of the most rundown buildings I've ever been in.

Rodents and insects are a whole other deal though..

I agree...I can look past a rustic bldg, and a lot of times that adds to the ambiance and mystique of a restaurant, but I cannot look past filth or unsanitary conditions. That is a total deal breaker for me.

I have remodeled many food service businesses and they are pretty ugly behind the scenes. The company I work for does Applebee's,Chili's and Red Robins plus allot of stand alones. The last one I did was Chili's GOOO! ( Two) and it's a long time before I can even eat at a restaurant .That Chili's was bad and the state health shut them down until it was fixed. We get talking at breaks about what we have seen over the years and the plumbers will tell you the worst stories.I have a 127lbs.black lab that followed me around thinking I had a hamburger on me somewhere when we do restaurant remodels.
