brg, morning and welcome to the forum.... About installing risers on the air inlets for an UDS.... Some folks have found that risers restrict the air flow to the smoker.... Friction loss plays a very big part of that happening... If you find you can't control the heat well, get rid of the risers and place the ball valves directly on the pipe nipple at the bottom of the smoker, without a 90 deg elbow...
Thanks guys guess ill just put the nipples in then. Should be finished this weekend. Found some expanded metal at work going to use the bender and bend it into a cylinder and weld a bottom to it and should be good to go for that.
