So my cataract surgery recovery has been bumpy to say the least. I reacted to the prednisone drops. That caused the interocular pressure to go high and foggy vision. So they got me off all the drops a couple weeks early, no issues after that. I had one light adjustment and was to have another today, but my vision got worse since last week. did a couple unconformable scans to find out I have swelling in the back of my eye. I asked how do they fix that and jokingly said "stick a needle in my eye?". Doc say we yes.

Here are the odds of these happening:
Prednisone reaction 3%
the swelling issue 0.04%

Starting to feel personal. I am told all is fixable and should not be an issue. But as you can see...feel like I am getting the short straw more often than not these days. Gonna drink over it tonight and try to find some peace over the weekend.

Hope things get squared away for ya.
Golf bud has been having similar issues since his cataract work, had to get back on the drops and things are still foggy for him. Not sure what his next step is.

Dog gone it, Dave. I hate to hear this. You've had an awful lot to handle. Keep your head up my friend but please, don't go gambling! I'll be thinking about ya.

Holy crap Dave, get this squared away and your due some good luck.
Hang in there brother!!!

Yeah some really odd mojo happening Dave. Keep your spirits pointed in the positive direction while they get you fixed. We're here supporting ya brother!

Jesus Dave !!!

This just sucks , You have been on a very bad hill in the last while.
Keep positive thoughts and get to the top and finally have some smooth sailings down the good side for awhile.

Fingers crossed for you Dave.

David

That sucks Dave! Have no doubt you'll make it through this, but I know it still sucks! If you ever need someone to vent to I know there are many here to help! More than likely plenty that would help ya drink about it! Hang in there bud!

Mine wasn't exactly as expected. I was a rare one where they did both eyes in on sitting. During surgery I head the surgeon say "Sh#$t" "Tell Mrs. Wheeler he's going to take a little longer. I paid for corrective lenses knowing that I would probably still need readers, but it was worth it to be able o wear "real" sunglasses again. Long story short, about a week after the surgery I had a few floaters in the left eye, and a spot where it wasn't as clear as the right eye. They sent me to a retinal specialist (on their dime) since I threatened to sue their assess of. Specialist said there was retinal swelling(no fault of surgery) nd put me on steroid drops to help. This went on for about 2 months where I noticed a little better vision. Finally the specialist told me only time would fix it. Fast forward. within a few months left eye improved. ended up with 20/20 in the right and a skosh less in the left. Still have to wear readers to read the bible <smirk>
After all is said, I'm glad I did it. I can see a bird on a phone pole 2 blocks away and regular crap like TV and such is fantastic. Still don't for the life of me know what , if anything, went wrong. I don't trust doctors any more than lawyers and politicians. No more contacts ever. The end

That sucks Dave! 2026 will be a year to forget in your books. I have had a shot in the eye a couple times due to diabetic retinopathy. Uncomfortable to watch the needle coming, but no real pain during the procedure. I hope this is resolved quickly for you.

Damn, I don't know what else to say other than you are in my prayers, Dave.
