Last week I found prime ribeyes on sale at Kroger and at $5.99/lb decided I was in need of a steak fix after my recent return from the land of Chicken Tikka Masala. The ones on the rack were a bit thin for my liking so I went in search of the butcher. We exchanged pleasantries and he agreed to cut me 3 steaks to order.

I have grills, smokers, sous vide circulators and only God knows what else stashed around the house (Yes I know I have a problem but I can live with that.) but just wasn't feeling it.

After a quick trip around the yard gathering fallen limbs and starting a fire in the pit, decided I'd just throw a grate over that and cook up some supper.

2" ribeyes
Baked taters
Portabellas

Sometimes the simple things in life bring the most pleasure.

Thanks Richie!

Mine is 5 acres with a couple hundred oak/blackjack trees on it so we have plenty of fire pit wood.

Looks good. Sometimes a person just has to do what a person has to do.
