We had a great time in the mountains.I took a few pics for you all to see.The first one is our camp on the Williams River,one of the best trout streams in the East,second is a view of the Williams River Vally from on top of Black Mountain,third is supper one night,and the fourth is yours truely[the old man] having a little fun.Thanks to SirMonty for your prayer,it must of worked cause I didnt fall off my horse.They must of heard of me at the stable,the horses name was "Whiskey."

Looks like you had a great time. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us. Great times usually come from the simplist times.

Never had much luck with horses named for booze. Remember a bad time with a horse named Brandy. Brandy, at one point, just did not want to be bothered by a rider anymore and did all he could to dump me. What a ride. Held to it and stayed mounted.

Happy to know that you had a great time and are home safe!

Gypsy,I read your post where you were coming to WV.Do you have family in Summersville,where I was camped is only about 50 miles from there.Summersville sure has grown,it used to be a small little town.Just south of there is Fayetteville where we go whitewater rafting,nice country.

Welcome back David! Glad you had a good time. It looks beautiful down there. I met a couple of misonnary folks from West Virginia in Salem Mass last weekend and they doing a 10 state in 10 days bible tour. Nice folks but they kept saying "yes West Virginia is a real state." Couldn't figure it out ... Never got a chance to ask what that meant. Is it because it's small?

Hey Debi,thanks for the reply,some people never studied geography I believe.In my lifes travels Ive had many people ask me where Im from and when I say WV they say Western Virginia.Ive had a hard time convincing some people that WV is a "real state"and not the western part of Virginia.

yeah dac. my inlaws all live there & the girls go to school there. also for the other post we were talking on - i can get literally a ton of free wood right there @ the house so we wouldn't have to cart it all the way there.dad in law has a wood splitter on a trailer & darn near a sawmill in the shed.

I have had the same thing happen to me also....someone will ask, 'where ya from?' and I will reply, WV, and they will say, oh I have a sister in Richmond......

I may have to research West Virginia, is there a state income tax? I need a nice, old fashioned, quiet, rural place to retire to.

Debi you can get as rural here in WV as you can get.I believe there is land here a person has still not set foot on cause there is just so much wilderness areas.I live in the western part of WV along the Ohio River and I hope to at least buy a small piece of land in the mountains for a camp.This would be someplace I could go whenever I could to escape the rest of the world.The cost of living here is about average from what Ive seen elsewhere but mostly the people here are as good as it gets.Theres a saying here that when you go to visit someone the first place they take you is to the kitchen.I once stopped at the home of an elderly couple cause I was almost out of gas on my dirt bike and before getting a full tank of gas for free the lady took me to the kitchen and forced me to eat two pieces of chocolate cake with a glass of milk.
