Ash problem in offset

Hey I have just finished building a traditional offset I have fired it up a couple times and I have been getting alot of ash bowing up in to the cook chamber this is my first off set and I'm not sure what is wrong ? Is it a design problem ? I have attached a few pics of the smoker

You are missing the baffle plate above the fire box opening. Should angle downward a bit coming into the cook chamber. That will help maintain more even heat across the cook chamber and fix your ash problem. Nice looking smoker

The picture of your intakes (wide open)... Is that where it runs wen cooking ?? Does this ash problem only happen when you open the cook chamber door really fast (creating a suction from the FB) ??
