Why spend a lot of money when you could go find a piece of untreated (Zinc, etc.) metal and hammer it to the Radius of the FB
. You could take it to a Machine shop and see about rolling it to the Radius ; maybe $10 or so...useing 16ga. metal will do. Bend a tab up on a corner as a grabber and just pull out and empty in your ashbucket . It just needs to cover the bottom 1/3 of a round FB and side to side on a square one. Easy , simple and cheap (if you hammer it yourself-and it's not hard.)
You have an excellent idea , it protects the bottom of the FB for several yrs.
