Wanted to get everyone's opinion on type of material for ash pan? Stainless steel seems to be the best choice?

Don't know what you're building, but no need to spend the extra money on SS for an ash collector or most any other parts.
Most bends OK, but welding SS can be a disaster. Use a regular stick or wire and you carbonize the weld which induces corrosion

I was just wanting to add like a stainless steel roasting type pan in there to collect ash. I had a natural aluminum pan from target but put it back afraid it might melt
