I AM NEW TO THE SMOKING GAME.  SO FAR I HAVE JUST SMOKED ONE ITEM AT A TIME.  THIS WEEKEND I AM GOING TO DO RIBS AND CHICKEN.  WHICH ONE SHOULD BE ON TOP? DOES THE DRIPPING CHANGE THE TASTE?

Tho the USDA says it doesn't matter in most cases I like to keep the chicken below any other meat I'm smoking. Turn off your caps and quit shouting

Normally, it doesn't matter because the food is properly cooked in the end. Having said that, I'd still put the chicken on the lower rack if you have room just to completely eliminate the possibility of any contamination.
