Last year I scored a bunch of 40lb bags of Frontier lump wood from Sam's Club for cheap and I loved the stuff. Well this year they have a different brand and I'm not sure about it. They have Best of the West Mesquite Charcoal and I am wondering if any of you have used this and can give me your opinion. I am worried that I am going to get much to strong of a Mesquite flavor with this wood. The reviews on the nakedwhiz page aren't very good so maybe I should just steer clear but the price is always so good at Sam's. If I go to the rest of the stores around here I get a 10lb bag for more than what Sam's usually charges for a 40lb bag. Here is a picture of the bag. Any feedback good or bad would be much appreciated.

Yes sir I definitely know what your talking about . I shop at Sams and I have been buying Best of the West and I like the stuff . I like the big pieces that I get . As far as the mesquite flavor goes , I dont even notice , seems to burn just like it should . I mainly use it to start my fires and to add during the cook sometimes . It just has a good heat and not a whole lot of mesquite flavor . For me I dont like the little pieces you get at the end of the bag and this stuff seems to have mostly big pieces like I like . Good Luck .

I have heard from a few other people that they like it as well so I am going to give it a try. If I don't like it then I am only out $14 so its worth a shot. I am also a fan of the bigger chunks and for the price you can't go wrong if it stays lit and produces good heat. Thanks for you input.
