I have finally gotten my welder, already have my 275 gallon tank, and a trailer. I have some materials with others on the way. I am kind of at a stand still because I don't know what I want or which is best. Should a lay my 275 oil tank down, so it can have one or 2 cooking racks with a high surface area, or, have it standing up with two or three or four cooking racks? I plan to do whole hogs.

any opinions/input?

thanks to everyone in advance

If you want to do whole hogs you may want to lay it on the side. Really depends on the size of hogs you plan to smoke.

If you stand it up.... the door will be easy to open....  but realize how many circular racks you have to build.....

I'd go horizontal reverse flow, single door....   There are calculators in my signature line if you need them.....  and I will be glad to explain anything you need help with.....
