We had two 15yo black labs that passed late 2019 and have missed, and vacillating over having dogs again ... heart-wrenching when they pass.

But obvious how eventually decided ...

These girls are 3yo sisters ... twin except for coloration. They act, move, pose alike all the time. Inseparable. Picked up as strays last October. Maybe used at a puppy mill and then turned loose. Were adopted but family lived on base and the jet noise terrified them, so were returned. We’ve had them 4 days, a little skittish at first, scared of first couple rides with us, but settled in nicely. Great with the grandkids, cats, other dogs, passing golfers. Hoping they'll love boating. Haven’t yet got the whole ‘retriever’ thing down (don’t know what to do with a tennis ball), but still couldn’t have asked for anything more or different.

Yes, dogs give you the happiest days of your life and one of the saddest, but I really can't imagine life without them. I imagine that we'll always have at least 2...
