Hello everyone, I have been having trouble doin any kind of low temp smoking. The lowest I could ever get my Masterbuilt Gas Smokehouse was 225* and that wasn't cutting it, so I looked to SMF as I regularly do for a fix and found the thread detailing the needle valve installation. Since SMF hooked me up with the fix and Bayou Classic for the valve, I figured the least I could do would be to share the experience with everyone.
This was my burner before the needle valve installation on its lowest setting.
This was my burner after the needle valve installation on its lowest setting.
Finally, this is the set up of my finished product. Just a couple reducers and adapters to make my hose fit the 1/4" needle valve (only size I could find online) some gas pipe thread sealant and a short piece of rubber coated flexible gas line. It was in the 70's yesterday here in kentucky and my smoker was in the shade of my porch, I was able to hold 100* for a good half hour while I was doing my leak test.
Overall I'm very pleased with this upgrade, I know there are other posts like mine but I thought I would share my experience also. Thanks!
Dustin
