AMNTS tray burns up fast with dust

I am using in a MES 40. I cold not keep pellets going so made dust. I heat dust in toaster over at 225 for 30 minutes than pack fairy tight in tray. The whole tray burns up in just over a hour. I am sitting on the bottom of smoker. It is not jumping channels.
 
Sounds like you're drying them out too much.
I mix dust and pellets in my maze and it smokes a good 2-3 hours.
 
I only put my dust and pellets into the micro for 10-15 seconds. but it's pretty dry out here in CA.
 
What temp is your smoker set at ???
I think dust should be used at temps under 160... Mine last 4+ hours at 120....

Had it at 250. If I do it again I will put in mailbox. I have not used in a while. I pretty much been doing all my hot smoking on the WSM. Just not been that happy with the smoke flavor from the electric.
