Hello to all,

I am a new member here and just wanted to express my admiration of all the knowledge here. I have been smoking just about every kind of meat there is for about 15 years and look forward to gaining more knowledge from all of you. Hopefully I will be able to contribute a little myself. I only use gas smokers with the water bath and while I know that isn't the purist method, I have always been very pleased with the results. I am currently drawing up plans to build my own reverse flow duel smoke chamber (seperate heat sources) vertical smoker. As it progresses, which will probably be this fall, I will post pictures and updates that may help benefit someone else.

I look forward to making a few new friends.

Keep it low and slow.

to SMF!!! We're happy to have you here! Sounds like you have some good experience to share with us!

I always have to post a warm welcome for the people from the state of Misery. I grew up in Joplin and my family are still in Carterville and Webb City. If you ever stop by the ACE Hardware in Webb City, say hello to my sister. She owns the store. I hope you didn't get hit with the tornado in May 2011.

Good to hear from you and happy smoking,

WC

Just fugured I'd say hi to a neighbor from Joplin. I'm in Neosho. This is a great forum and I'm looking forward to your build. Glad you survived last May 22nd. The

damage is probably the worst thing I have ever seen with my own eyes. So much worse than the pictures.

Hey, WSA, Joplin native here, live in Edmond, OK, but still have relatives in Joplin.  And, hey, Neosho, you know any Hobarts in Neosho?

Smoke on an electric Brinkman bullet smoker.  Been reading Jeff's monthly letter for several years, and have used the rib rub.  Getting ready to smoke a brisket, pork tenderloin, cajun flavored turkey breast roll, and smoked sausage tomorrow through however long it takes Sunday.  Not all at once.  Brisket is marinating now in trash bag with Coke, terriyali sauce, soy sauce, lime juice, garlic salt, Natures Seasoning, Daddy Hinkles rub.

1960 - that would have been about when they moved from Joplin. May have been 1962.  Mr. Hobart was a teacher.  Had two sons - Aaron and Brian.

Used to work in the summers with some guys from down around your way - at Tamko.
