Hey hoity, when I say Alabamian wood, I mean based on commonality not exclusivity. That being said, I mean a lot of Hickory which grows like weeds around me. I love Pecan but I think of that more as a Georgia wood. I have a hard time finding folks trying to offload Pecan.

When I think of Texas style BBQ I think of a lot of Post Oak/White Oak wood.
I got pecan everywhere here.,,it is great on brisket but I prefer hickory. 7 pecan trees in my yard.
