I did some work on it today almost finished with the door counterweight. It does work perfectly just need to finish welding it up. Will get some pics tomorrow. Prepared shotgun shells for old faithful smoker tomorrow. Queso dip and cheese beer brats will also be added. Gonna also get my garden planted tomorrow. The pic of the door open was a test yesterday also it does open up more. Just the clamps were hitting the back of the CC.

Door counterweight is finally 100% done. It does have 3 2x4 tubes filled to get the weight needed. I only had smaller ones. I could have welded them together ect… to make a big one but decided on this route. It’s and easy 1 finger open or close and the door has a point where the counter weight takes over to hold it open or closed. Works great. The last pic is 2 pieces of the exhaust pipe I had left over and filled with concrete to add more counter weight to the front to help with the weight of the fire box. Looks like I should have room to make a shelf in between them to hold my grease pan or bucket. Only a few more things left and it will be time to get it prepped for paint. I can’t wait. I want it done I want to cook food and I want my shed back. lol

Looking good - awesome job! I know what you mean about being anxious to be done and get your shop space back lol! I’m so close to finished on my build that I’m really excited to free up some space in my shop!

Great job Irvin! :emoji_thumbsup:

Thank u much appreciated. My yard is a mess cause the stuff that’s normally in there is outside because of space. lol can’t wait for all that to be cleaned up also.

Been a few since I posted. Finished the front counterweight to offset the firebox and rear wheel placement. Nice and sturdy now. There will be a shelf made to fit in between these counterweights and it will be able to hold the pan or bucket for the grease drain. Next up finished the holder for the folding exhaust. Came out decent. It was a pita to bend the 1/4” plate in a round shape close to the exhaust. That’s the best I could do with the tools and stuff I have. It also twisted on me and I couldn’t fix that. It is a little off not perfectly straight. It’s for me and I am ok with it. 😂 On to the last remaining shelves under CC and the folding one for the front. Then it’s grind and finish cleaning it up for paint.

Been a few days since I posted. I have gotten a few more things completed not many more to go that’s for sure I really hope this weekend to have it finished and painted. Shelf built to hold the grease pan. Test fit on the door gauges gonna be 4 total. Stabilizing/leveling feet installed. Front outside folding shelf built. Need to build the brackets and stuff to finish that and get the expanded metal welded to the frame for a shelf under the CC.

Still looking great man! Your gettin' close! I know for sure how time consuming all those little jobs can be trying to finish up LOL. But there's definitely a light at the end of the tunnel now!
