Hey JJ

I caught an episode the other night.  Some of it was real interesting.  This one was on different woods to use.  Since I'm assuming he's from Texas, it highlighted the different woods used in different parts of the state.  That part was good.  But there was a lot of filler in this one--nothing happening but wasting time.  There was another episode coming on right after, but I just recorded that one.  That way I can fast forward through any boring stuff.

Watched a couple of Steve's show.

It's a lot too overproduced for me. All his food is some exotic fine dining take on barbecue. Complicated rubs and sauces and weird meats and veggies. And he seems to be really fond of those electric and sawdust hockey puck smokers (probably because they sponsored his show).  And it takes place at some high roller resort? It's the opposite of what barbecue should be.

I watch the Steven show for S#!T's and Giggles! Maybe one in 3 will have a tidbit of useful info. Steve does, frequently admit he is an Cookbook Author and not a Grill/Pitmaster or Chef. I guess that does not matter to the PBS stations that carry the show. On a Positive note, at least you learn something compared to watching BBQ Pitmaster's where EVERTHING is a Secret and you need to Pay for classes....Thanks for nothin' Myron!...JJ
