So Safeway had whole Foster Farm birds for $0.86 per/lb. Called my neighbors and told them if they wanted to buy some birds I would smoke them along with mine, if I'm gonna fire up the WSM might as well fill all the racks. Got 4 birds for me, 2 each for two different sets of neighbors. Hit them with a mix of garlic salt, Tony Chachare's Creole Seasoning, and a little bit of left over BBQ rub I had in the cupboard.

Smoked them at 250° with some hickory. Four on each rack.

After 4 hrs. and a bit of rest I pulled all the meat off the birds and put half a birds worth of meat in each vacuum bag.

My hands were a bit busy so I didn't get a ton of picks, but they all turned out great. Now I can just pull out a bag or two and make all kinds of good stuff!

What a great smoke you had there .....good neighbor for sure . Whenever I light up the WSM neighbors all seem to check in on the contents !!
Yeah.... I usually pass out small sandwich sized ziploc bags with a little bit of whatever I smoked to my neighbors. Keeps them all happy and nobody ever complains about smoke blowing over the fence!

.... except for that one Thanksgiving where I fired up my WSM at about 5:00 AM and put the Turkey on. My neighbor woke up at about 6:00 AM and was smelling smoke in his house and started to panic thinking something was on fire. I guess after about 30 minutes of frantic searching he realized it was my smoker... lol. Felt so bad I gave him an entire Turkey leg.
