Wow that $uck$, but it may be a blessing in disguise. Register it and give CS a call. They'll send a new lid out. Then gently message the old lid back into shape and use that one for when you use the Vortex.

Congrats on the new kettle! Now that it has a ding, you can ease your mind and start grillen! Like a new car, the first scratch is heart breaking but then it is over.

I bought a Weber in 1986 after arriving in Arizona. I managed some pretty decent smoked meals on it before I got an inexpensive offset. Terrific grill and mine has some chips. It was my 3d or 4th; every time the army moved me I had to get a new grill. I still have it. About 27 inches across. I am looking to get stainless still grill and charcoal grates for it. Anyone know of a good source?

Wow! You boys had it good!
Yeah , but when I was eating vodka laced oranges at the school picnic I didn't know I was heading for a lifetime of manual labor . Oh well , somebody has to build cities I guess .

New one shipped out right away , should be here Weds. Picked up the old one today .
