120 gallon vertical tank

my tank is 30'' x 46'' I read on 250 gallon tank the fire box opening should be 8" high. would it be the same on my smaller tank? same width just shorter.

Hey link, you may have to reword your question here. Do you mean width instead of diameter? I think the magic number will be in square inches??
