So yea I'm going for sure!

we will get there Saturday night. She will be busy all day Sunday and Monday and I'll have nothing to do but have fun!

Have fun glued....drive a large vehicle so you'll have room to bring home lots of goodies.

Hey Glued,

They have casinos in KC. So just win enough money that you can buy another smoker and then your wife won't be able to sigh or complain.

I get allot of sighs and complaints from the casinos here.
Even though the casino bought her lincoln.

Enjoy the trip. Don;t forget to give us the Q review when you return.

Jack Stack/Fiorella's is a hot spot. I have not been, but the wife has twice. She liked it. Avoid it! LOL...
Seriously she inevitably had chicken. She did bring me back a couple bottles of Stack's rub. Not bad...but he should call me. ;{)

What to do in KC? Eat man EAT! Think of all the BBQ joints they got! Think of all the equipment you can look at! The EAT some more!

Never got to stop either, just blastin through on our way to and from Ft. Sill.

Enjoy the trip!

HHmmmmmmmmmmm........................ Let's see ....................

I'd hit Arthur Bryant's for some good Q. Go to the original on Brooklyn to get the full monty. I prefer the Rich & Spicy sauce, never had their ribs. They put out a sammie that you will still be eating on tomorrow. 3"-4" of meat on white bread, I prefer the thin sliced butt, they also have brisket, or a combo of both. And be sure to get the fries. Good beans too.
Smokestack BBQ is hard to beat, up on N. Oak. Excellent Q, killer slaw & beans.
Oklahoma Joe's is another good place for excellent Q.
One of my personal favorites is Quick's on 7th. Love their sausage sammies.
Don't waste time on Jack Stack, Gates, Hayward's.

Hey, slide down 50 highway to Sedalia......oh yea, we got Q here too! There's a hole in the wall called Pits; small shack in the middle of the hardware store parking lot. Also, Kehde's is pretty good.

Yea, it's not Arthur Bryant's, but it aint bad either. Have a great trip Glued!

Well, it must have been several. The stockyards burned years ago. I agree, The Golden Ox is a legend, the place where the great cattle barons ate. BUT. It died. Combination of a bad neighborhood and the burbs having a bazillion restaurants, so why go down to The Ox?
The Golden Ox has been reopened by new owners, I've been there once, didn't seem as good. For a good steak I'd try The Hereford House.

Yup, I said many years ago. I did a search and found the link; so, I figured it was still a go.

The other day I was shown a smoker on ebay by another member on this forum. I have been shopping for a new smoker and I was interested in this one so I showed it to my wife. Instead of a "sigh" she said " So do you wanna go on a road trip?" Kansas City, Kansas City Here WE Come! I'm picking up an Oklahaoma Joe 40" horizontal smoker with MAD custom modifications. *SIGH* She even loves fishing as much as I do.

I always slip the guy makin the sammies a buck or two and he really piles the meat high then throws a slew of fries and paints it thick with sauce and wraps it all up in that famous brown paper it is awsome BIG !

BTW I had a great time in KC!
I met with peculiarmike, pigcicles, shortone and smokinmeat.
We went to Oklahoma joes and they were closed. Closed on sunday?
