    Idea for a breakfast fatty

For Thanksgiving with my dad and stepmom, we go away and while they take care of the main dinner, the kids take care of breakfast. There will be 10 total, 2 of those under 2. First one is a standard breakfast fatty, eggs cheese and taters. Some are food sheltered, some by choice and some by...

Anyone in Raleigh area who can help with UDS build?

I have a drum and had a guy that said he would help, but has since backed out and my drum just sits. So I was wondering if anyone in the Raleigh area could either loan a hand or tools and space to put one together. The drum is a sealed drum, so the top needs cutting off and still needs a good...

Smoking a whole turkey for guests

We are going away for a weekend near thanksgiving and have thought about smoking a turkey. I have been reading a lot in here looking at what works for most and try it for our friends. Parents want to do the cooking day of, so we don't get that fun but gives us time to practice and get it right!

    Turkey in Texas (TNT)

Poultry is one thing I am excited about smoking up, plotting on doing a turkey around Thanksgiving, especially after seeing your posts about them. What are some things we need to look for or do for a successful bird smoke? That looks freakin delicious!!

    Gloves for handling meat

I like the latex/nitrile gloves for all kinds of things. I used the blue ones the most, and used them in working on cars to messing with peppers. I have not used them with meats, because I haven't put rub on meat much (yet). I can get them at work (auto parts store)

    Burn Bans

Between burn bans and living in an apartment building, burning hot like that and a big flame isn't going to fly. We can cook in the parking lot, but that would be a controlled flame and covered. I think a torch or a weed burner may be in order if sand blasting doesn't do it. If its just a rust...

    Burn Bans

Would sand blasting be enough to get the nasties out of a barrel that is lined? I haven't bought a barrel yet and I can't burn one out where I am, but looking at other options.
