The fire goes out in the middle of a smoke and the temps swing 78-80 degree from what it is set at . Customer service sucks . They did send me a new controller and the did not solve...

    I have started using charcoal to start the fire and heat up the cooker and switching to split hickory or fruit wood .... works great and wood is much cheaper than charcoal

    using a Dyna glo offset verticle smoker . anyone ever tried starting the fire with charcoal then switching to all wood ?  any reason you couldnt do this with any offset smoker ?
