I notice a lot of times brisket is served in a pan of juice and it's very good. When I've made brisket in the past, I've just put it on the smoker rack directly and it still comes out tender. Am I supposed to be smoking it in a pan of juice like au ju? What kind of pan, like an aluminum...
I know there's lots of threads about snack sticks on here but I think I'm missing something or doing something way wrong. My sticks always turn out overdone, or too moist, or just not flavorful enough.
I use ground beef. Mix in black pepper, salt, garlic and paprika. I think that's...
Hey all, Happy Memorial Day and thanks to those of you who have served or currently are serving our country to keep us safe.
Was planning on just doing a brisket for today, but I let the wife in charge of getting the meat out of the deep freezer, and she grabbed the pork shoulder instead of...
Wife bought me a New MES smoker for my birthday. I'm a big fan of this new one as it has a glass viewing window so I don't have to open the door to see the meat inside. Also has a built in meat probe as well. Today I'm making pulled pork for the first time. Got a 6 lb pork shoulder in now...
Waterin, I think you bring a great point. My old smoker was a MES similar to the one you linked, and I kept thinking the wireless thermometer I bought for it was all jacked up because it showed 300 degrees when I had the smoker set to 150. Im wondering if its the smoker itself?
Hi. I've been smoking for about 4 years and my first smoker finally quit. Not on it's own, we had a bad storm and the wind was so strong it actually picked up the smoker and threw it across my deck and everything inside is destroyed along with a nice dent in the smoker itself. It was time...
I think I'll just make it whole and then freeze it. Sounds like the best bet. So just unwrap, put on the rub and smoke away? No trimming or anything I need to get rid of?
This is my first attempt at pulled pork. I got a nice 12 lb pork shoulder/butt at SAMs club but I can't cook all 12 pounds at once. Is it ok to cut in half? Can I split it up even more? I'm gonna use maybe 2lb at a time right now. Other than cutting apart is there anything else I need to do...
