Bottom Shelf for 36" Camp Chef SmokePro - where to find one?

Camp Chef got back to me - there is no bottom shelf for the 36" models available. Seems odd to me - the legs have holes for a shelf. I guess they are the same legs as the 24" models. Perhaps I will need to make my own shelf....

Bottom Shelf for 36" Camp Chef SmokePro - where to find one?

I got a great new smoker for Father's Day - Camp Chef SmokePro SGX36 in bronze - my wife even got the sear burner. I have a 12lb pork butt smoking away now and am very pleased with the smoker. I would like to have a lower shelf for this model and I see that the legs have holes for the bolts...

First pork butt in my new MES 30

@SmokinDonTCB77   Before I got the AMNPS going I would have to resupply the chips from time to time.   I found that this method causes uneven smoke on the meat as you get a lot when the chips go in and none when they are consumed.   This cycle is repeated over and over - not to mention you...

Greetings I plan to smoke 3 butts at once in my MES . Will the 2 hour per pound apply individually or to the total? Thanks

    Another AMNPS-MES Question

I am thinking of using a computer fan on my mailbox mod on an MES 30.   How many CFM do you think that fan is giving you?   Are you using a transformer down to 12VDC for the fan? Thanks Tom

I also did a mailbox mod and when the pellets are prepared correctly (dry, properly ignited, and given enough oxygen to burn) it is about the greatest thing ever!

mes 30 smoker newbie how often do you need to put in wood chips

I bailed on the chips entirely and use the AMNPS in a mailbox mod and it works perfectly.   I also have sand in the water tray and have never had a moisture issue.   I never had much luck with the AMNPS in the smoker itself and it took a few iterations to get the air flow right when I made my...

How long can a turkey be kept in the refrigerator?

I figured as much - thankfully I got it for under $1 per pound.  I will smoke something else this weekend.

How long can a turkey be kept in the refrigerator?

Greetings, I bought a frozen bird before Thanksgiving with the intention of smoking that week but events conspired against me.   The bird has now been in the refrigerator sealed in its vacuum pack bag for three weeks.   Any thoughts on whether this would be a problem to smoke this weekend? Any...

How much air for the mailbox mod?

Thanks Dave - the chip tray is out when I smoke with the mailbox.   I think your thoughts about the relative "dryness" of the pellets may be a clue.  I am using Todd's Pitmaster's Choice blend and I just checked the AMNPS that I left out in open air last night and it looks like it burned for...

How much air for the mailbox mod?

Thanks - I have 6 smaller holes so I will enlarge them a bit to see how that goes.   6 half inch holes adds up to about 1.17 square inches and two 1 inch holes is about 1.57 square inches.   I will get myself to that level or perhaps 2 square inches and see how it goes. Tom

How much air for the mailbox mod?

Greetings, After several failed attempts at using the AMNPS in my MES 30 I did the mailbox mod (Pictures attached).  On my first attempt the AMNPS kept going out.   On my second I drilled more holes (6 1/2" holes total) and it still would not stay lit (picture of where it stopped attached).   I...

My take on the Mailbox Mod for the MES 30

OK - here are the results.   I prepared a sausage stuffed pork tenderloin and fired up the smoker.   The AMNPS went in and was working fine to start but went out after about 30 minutes.   I restarted it and left the mailbox door open about 1/16th of an inch and it stayed lit.   I had drilled air...
