I have a smokehouse style smoker I built and have been having troubles with the gasket I used. I am wondering what would work the best, I would prefer something a little wider than a rope gasket. Would kaowool stripping work or is that real fluffy and would compress to nothing? Any ideas are...
Tel tru thermos are very accurate and many are able to be calibrated as well. Check out ebay for a Tel tru I recently got a $85 thermo for $28 NIB and shipped that was a great deal.
I used a Cabela's 1hp #22 last weekend and that thing is a beast, I borrowed it from a friend and will definitely be buying one soon although I may opt for the .75hp #12. I don't think you can go wrong with the Cabela's grinders their website has almost a 1,000 reviews averaging 4.8/5 that...
Welcome, you will find a vast amount of useful information around here, it truly is a great place to find all the answers to your questions. How are you liking the Traeger? Not sure what kind of pellets you use but you should look into Lumberjack pellets.... they are a wonderful pellet and...
If your gonna get the LEM they offer one with stainless tubes only available direct from LEM for 149.99 and if you call by phone and ask them they will wave the shipping cost for above $150 so just order an extra gasket to have on hand and youll be all set. I just ordered this last week and its...
Yeah I used 19mm smoked mahogany casings from LEM, to me they seemed to be perfect, but then again its my first time.
I was able to hang ropes about 30" in the smoker could of maybe done a little more but didnt push it
Great looking smoker Wazoo! I just got done building one that was inspired from Rancid Crabtree as well, check it out in the bottom of my signature. I would highly recommend a needle valve for your propane line it is a great way to fine tune the smoker temp without having to open any doors.
I had the same problem with my 732 the smoker probe was reading about 110 degrees high I tried everything with no luck until I went to use it a week later and boom just like that it was right on the money again. Not real sure how thats even possible but its been working great the last few...
Thanks for the compliments guys, the smokehouse has created some great Q in the last few weeks and I am so glad it has been working well, at first I was worried it was just gonna end up being a good looking storage box. It takes a little work to get the temp right where you want it but once...
Ever since I finished my smokehouse about a month ago I have been smoking something every weekend with great results. This weekend was one I've been waiting for since Christmas Day when I arrowed a nice whitetail doe, I have had the scraps in the freezer just waiting to make some sticks. After...
Congrats on the new purchase, being a newbie here as well I have found the search bar at the top to be the best thing for finding ideas and recipes. If you don't find what ya want just ask there are so many helpful people here it is ridiculous...enjoy
I'm not really sure what max temp could be safely sustained in this smoker, I do know I turned it up and forgot about it for awhile and came back to it at 325 and it seemed just fine. Normally I find no reason to go over 250 so i think it should be fine for that.
Honestly I'm not real sure only been using it for a couple weeks now and here in Minnesota its been around 10 degrees when I've been smoking. I feal there wouldn't be any issues keeping it down around 140-150, as long as your burner is a little protected from gusts coming through the inlets.
Wazoo, I have a needle valve between my regulator and burner and have found it to be a very useful tool for controling the burner, much better than the knobs on the burner itself. The one you linked to in your post is a high pressure regulator (10psi) and says it is for 55,000-60,000btu, and...
