Different units make for different locations but the ideal is to have it near the air intake (I take the chip drawer out to allow for more air flow). Meat Probe Issue
Good call - I use an external dual probe along with the MES probe and the MES is usually 20 degrees off anyway.- vgene

Apple Sausage Pork Loin
Nice work disco! Have two in the freezer I’m going to experiment w. Did one this weekend that I cold smoked for 4 hrs, Sous Vide for 4 and charmed on the grill. Tasty! But DRY:( -

Burned Up Gen 1 MES
I’m with you smokes! Ordered mine first thing when I woke up this morning. Delivered next Wednesday. It I’m resurrecting my old mes 40 as well. Cut out all the burnt stuff, new wiring, and a PID. Should have both running next weekend.- vgene
