I went with the older MES30 did not see the value in a window and spent my extra money on a maverick wireless thermo and the amnps. Was not sure about the quality and longevity of the MES RF temp control

A nut brown is not a hoppy style. I primary four weeks bottle minimum of four weeks. Sounds like a lot of waiting but patience and temp control is the difference between drinkable and excellent. Good luck on your first. Homebrew talk is an excellent forum for brewers.

I bought the mes30 about a month ago. Todays cornish hens were the fifteenth smoke session. I have forgotten how to use the grill. I could not be happier for less than $200.

I find most amazon reviews to be wishy washy. So many times user error or abuse of a product ends up causing negative review. The main problem with most digital probes is moisture getting into the housing. I know this from years of homebrewing and breaking several cheap thermos.
