    Thermoworks Smoke Fix

I recently upgraded my home to a mesh network that is supposed to supply dual-band signals. Unfortunately, the Thermoworks Smoke couldn't find the 2.4ghz signal. It was really frustrating considering how much the gateway costs to let you access your cook temps via smartphone no matter where...

    BBQ Memories with Myron Mixon

The class was amazing.  Although it was much colder than I thought it would be in southern GA, the experience was worth it.  I have to admit I am really trying to figure out a way to put in a pit that will still comply with HOA in my neighborhood!  The food cooked that way just has something...

    BBQ Memories with Myron Mixon

Anyone on here ever go to Myron's for the small-group  BBQ Memories class?  I'm signed up for January and getting really excited.  Normally I wouldn't drop the coin on something that expensive but I was awarded a Sabbatical with a large budget and my theme for renewal was the "table" so anything...

22" WSM Leaning tower of heartache

I bought 1 1/2" machine screws and a 1" nylon spacers.  That should hold nicely.

22" WSM Leaning tower of heartache

The decision was for taking the lid off and what to do with a hot lid around the pool with kids in the vicinity. I use a BBQ IQ so the venting isn't as essential.

22" WSM Leaning tower of heartache

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for!  Thanks for the idea for the door clamps.  I have three ordered.  What size bolt did you use?

22" WSM Leaning tower of heartache

I think it came directly from the company but it is also on Amazon.  It is really beefy but it really messes with the balance.

22" WSM Leaning tower of heartache

Good afternoon, all.  I have a WSM with the lid mod to hold the lid in place when you need to address something inside the smoker.  The problem is that the smoker becomes so top heavy that it tips out of the base and spills any liquid from the water pan and even trashes the meat currently in the...

    Ground beef tenderloin burgers...help please

My in-laws just purchased a whole beef tenderloin had the butcher make one of the extra ends into burgers.  So they are bringing them Sunday for a cookout.  The patties have already been frozen so the likelihood they will be viable to take apart, add an egg yolk or bacon grease internally isn't...

    Easter Ham in the WSM

My apologies for the lack of Q-view, but with everything going on, I neglected the pics. The Easter morning started with the charcoal getting ready in the chimney and a pot of water boiling on the stove.  After I got the charcoal arranged in the smoker with some apple wood chunks, it was ready...

Thoughts on a new member of the stable...

This is exactly true, the problem is storage for a full trailer.  I have room in the garage for something on a pedestal or wheels that can be put on a hitch, but a full trailer just won't work unfortunately.

Thoughts on a new member of the stable...

I'm totally flexible, doesn't HAVE to be charcoal.  gator pits has one that is really nice, their tailgater.  Seems like the nicer ones don't have leaks and use a higher quality metal for the build.

Thoughts on a new member of the stable...

I have a proposal in place that would give me up to $2000 for a smoker. It is for a grant and the smoker is a line item I put in there with eloquent persuasion.  I already have a 22 WSM and a 22 kettle and natural gas grill. I have been looking at gravity fed, side by side, and anything that...

How to make ahead Double-Smoked Ham

How low and slow for Sunday morning?  i.e. what temp? I'm planning to use Chris Lilly's apricot glaze. I'm thinking low in the morning before church and wrapped in foil, then start glazing when we get back and turn temp up a bit to get the sugars to caramelize? Thanks for all the help!

How to make ahead Double-Smoked Ham

I've seen some great ideas on how to do a twice-smoked ham but due to my job (preacher) I won't have a bunch of time on Easter Sunday morning to get things done.  Can I do all the prep and smoking on Saturday and just reheat on Sunday before lunch?   What would that look like to make sure the...

    WSM On its way!

I am currently fighting with Masterbuilt about my MES 40.  They were going to send me a new shell but I have been completely dropped by customer service.  Anyway, thanks for the post.  This may give me the reason to save some $$$ and pull the trigger on a new WSM!
