Anybody add any of the flavored ash to their smoker? Given a gift of bourbon char from JD barrels but haven't tried it yet. Worried about flame-ups and the like.
Clean it? Nah...it took me since Christmas to get the thing looking and smelling right. Sometime when there is no leftovers in the house I just go out and sniff the thing to make me feel better.

Smoked two butts for a church function and it had to sit for awhile through the serving line. Added the finishing sauce just previous to the reheat and it reactivated all the spark in the flavor of the meat. I generally prefer the meat flavor untouched by sauces...
