    Bone in tourkey breasts

Turkey meat was delicious and moist. Turkey skin and baked potato were not crispy enough. Next time, smoke for 2 hours then crank up heat.

    Bone in tourkey breasts

Trying a couple breasts on new Traeger Pro 22. Not brined but injected with garlic/herb and rubbed with Cajun spices. Using apple pellets. 225 for 3 hours then crank heat or crispy skin and IT of 160. I also have some marinade left which I may spritz with.

Flavor was good. We use creole seasoning and brown sugar for rub. Texture was a little soft for me but wife said perfect for her.

Pork butt on new pro 22

Trying first long smoke on new 22. Outside temp around freezing , smoker temp is holding well around 225. After 9.5 hours, internal is 175 and 173 with 2 probes, IBBQ 4T. Dusted some more seasoning and spritzed with apple juice. Will pull at 200, wrap in foil, towel and drop in cooler for 2 hours.

    Everyone loves meatloaf

Today's run on Traeger 22 was meatloaf, tater and beans. Receipe called for cooking at 375 for 2 hours. Do not get a lot of smoke at high Temps but I can smell and taste on food so it's a win.

    New Toy

1st cook. Internal temp 130 with standard Traeger probe. Most of it looks perfect, some are rare. I will get a better probe. Pretty good sear as well.

    New Toy

No, I haven't done exact testing for Temps. It's first run / burn in, using the Traeger built in probe. I would like to get 2 meat probes, 1 smoker temp probe. Maybe with phone app so I can sit inside to monitor. Any suggestions ?

    New Toy

3 hours at 225. Temp fluctuates between 240 and 210. Outside temp is 80f with 15mph winds. I am very happy with that. Thin blue smoke, very similar to my old analog MES 30. I would say about a quart of pellets used including the hour burn in. I believe the Traeger will be a winner. Steak test...

Burn in complete. Still got pellets. hopper so dropped it down to 225. That is where I do pork butts. I want to see how steady it keeps Temps and how much smoke.

    New Smoker

Reviews are kind of all over on it which is why I asked for thoughts. Some have had shelves fall because there are no real supports for them. I can afford more if there are issues with the 40.

    New Smoker

Hello everyone. Been several years since I have posted. Older now and retired on fixed income. I am looking into a new electric smoker. Main foods would be pork butts and cold smoke cheese. The MES40 digital with amazing smoker tray. dual probe thermometer and 12 gage 25ft extension cord are...

    MES 20070410 help

Thank you all :) Though I should add that remedy for fault 1 did not work, tried it for several hours. Also I have cleaned heating element ends, they look fine, no carbon build up. Guess my only other option is to replace heating element and analog temp control and see if that works. Or run it...
