Thanks raptor700 for the tip. That loin turned out great.... (if anybody cares)Smoked it for 3 1/2 hours at 225 checked temp them took smoker to 300 for about 40 min to get the meet to temp.pulled the meat at 155,sliced.....inhaled. I was hoping to have some left over for a sandwich the next...

I'm new to smoking and yesterday was my first trial run. I made hamburgers because thats what we had in the fridge. I found a pork roast in the freezer and its defrosted. I dont know what kind of roast it is, but its approx. 3 lbs. I'm looking for some good recipies and tips.

Thanks to all for your encouragement and advice...the burgers turned out great. I used 2 1/2 lbs. of burger and some S&P. an hour and a half in the smoker and about 2 minutes on the grill...excellent! Itried keeping them arround 225, but I was using the thermometer on the unit, so actual...
Thanks, any tips on how much wood to use?( i have chips at the moment) some of the threads talk about going easy on the smoke with burgers... times and temps wouldnt hurt eather
