ive only used mine once so far but i didnt rotate them at all and they cooked great. they could have gotten rotated out when i took them out to foil them, and then again when i removed the foil, though.
Last weekend i smoked ribs for my third time. First time doing the 2-2-1 method. They were by far the best ive done yet.
It seems however that by the time i took them out of the foil (the second 2) they were already done. they were falling off the bone. despite them seeming to be done i left...
i see a lot of people use apple juice as a spray. will using apple juice flavor the meat? i don't really like apple flavored ribs.
if it doesn't flavor, should i just use straight up apple juice or do i mix with something else?
if it does flavor, what else can i use as a spray?
i picked up some ribs from sams club earlier today. i don't remember exactly what the package said but something like "pork loin back ribs" or something like that. is this the same as baby back? im going to try the 3-2-1 smoking tomorrow and i think it said for baby backs only to do 2-2-1. ...
