    Ribs for Me

Its funny you mention that there is a lot there. I did 4 ribs, just like last time. Only last time I ate a whole rack and boy was I miserable. This time I held back a little. The three of us (my mom, my oldest, and me) only ate 2 1/2 ribs this time. No one was miserable this time, and there was...

    Ribs for Me

This is my second time doing them, but first time I took pictures. So without further adieu, here we go. They went in at 12:00PM local time. They are 4 baby ribs. That is all my little smoker can handle. And if one is good two is better. Now to make the meal complete. Some corn muffins...

spiced nuts, 3 recipies from McCormick

We have a couple of black walnut trees on our property. Was wondering what to do with them other than use the mower to hurl them across the yard. These recipes look good, will have to give them a try this fall.

    Texas Snow Feb 12th 2010

That is just sick. That weather causes cabin fever. And mosquitoes. I would rather be sitting on a lake in -20 in a nice warm ice shack fishing. By the way, that snow is how our winter started out. I think that we have gotten a "snow event" about every week since and some have dropped quite a...

    Competition Cooking

Hey are there any of these in Iowa? Preferrably on the western side? I would like to watch one of these competitions. I have been watching them on TV and it looks like a person sure could learn a lot watching the competitors. I am new myself, so any time I can learn something it is appreciated.

    Snowbound

We are getting that same stuff too. I just got the smoker dug out from the first 5 storms. It is getting buried right now as I type.

    Smoking in the winter

Well, I was on my way, but now this new snow and hurricane winds are trying to bury it again. A real twisted game of Where’s Waldo. Guess I will be digging it out again this weekend.

    Smoking in the winter

I have been watching Pitmasters on TLC and have been wanting to fire the smoker up again. Well, I finally got my smoker dug out. It was right were I left it, except all the snow around it. I am hoping to get it fired up soon. I will see what the weather and schedule brings. Hoperfully it is soon.

    Smoking in the winter

It seems the problem this year is not the cold so much as all the darn snow. It is a little over a month into the season and there is 24" on the ground. We are having our 3rd storm right now. I can not even find the smoker anymore. May have to wait until I find the smoker again.
