    Opening of the plenum

Hi there, I am making good progress on the drawing board. A little detailed question on the plenum. I designed it on the flat side of the cilinder. The opening is rectangular and about 10% more sqare centimeters than the survace of the stack The opening is suited in between the two foodracks...

    Conflicting calculations??

Thanks all, I will stick to the tutorial then :-) It means a bit less space for the foodgrids but the flow en temperature control is more important. My lower grid will be approx. 4 inches above the RF plate. will that be to close burn risks during low n slow sessions? Ron

    Conflicting calculations??

Hi, In preparations of my build I am doing the required calculations. Now I am lost on how to calculate the CC/FB opening. According to the tutorial it should be 28814 Inch³x 0.004=115 Inch² based on the volume of my CC. However on the online smoker calculator...

    New RF smoker project

Are there any guidelines re. the length of the chimney inside the CC? I designed the pipe cutoff 45 degrees, is that assumption correct? I learned of the comments from @daveomak that there should be no exhaust damper in the chimney... so will leave that out :-)

    New RF smoker project

First question: grease drainage vs airflow I need to calculate the dimensions lateron but I am figuring out how to make the grease flow to the drain pipe without interupting the airflow. I can think of 3 options: 1. Let the entire CC slope so grease will flow... not a nice view I think but that...
