Recs for good value cabinet smoker?

LSG or Humphrey's. There are others out there like 270 smokers and Backwoods worth looking at too, but the former mentions seem to make the best ones IMO. I have a Humphrey's Battle Box & cannot speak well enough about it. They're beefy though so make sure you have a flat home for them to rest...

New LSG Pee Wee has arrived!

Man, 665 lbs?!? I have a Humphrey's Battle Box that seems similar in dimensions & I think it's only 350 lbs or so. That's a wild difference. Regardless looks like the quality is solid!! Congrats

    Masterbuilt Gravity Feed

The pressed sawdust squares work well enough for me. I have certainly run into issues where they barely fit on the rails which can be a problem at times, but most of the time they light the charcoal before hand. Before starting up I shake out the ash by rattling the charcoal grate from the...

    Masterbuilt Gravity Series 560 $350

Nice pickup at that price. It's not the best grill in the world, but it's pretty dang good. I've enjoyed mine much more than I expected too. Does great with smoking & searing!

SV Chucky 50 hours. (More Tender than Prime Rib!)

Doing this starting tonight. Had to sub in soup packet for compound butter with parm & garlic flavoring. My intent is to drop temp at the end briefly then sear it on either side to bring it back to temp. Hope it turns out good! Funny enough I found a youtuber from 2017 commenting on this thread...

Bear’s Smokers FREE to good homes. ALL GONE !!!

Dang Brother, I hate to hear about the challenges you've been facing. Nice of you to try to pass on your equipment to others so that they may experience the joys of smoking you enjoy. I hope things improve for ya or at least make things easy on ya from here on out. Keep fighting the good fight.

Oklahoma Joe reverse flow best smoker for the money?

Having touched both the OK Joe's & the Old Country pits smokers there is no question - the Old Country Pits units feel so much more sturdy & well made. If you have an Academy near by I recommend going to try to get hands on with one before hand. They also often have OK Joe models in their stores...

    Masterbuilt Gravity Feed

Overall I love the grill, but 15 or so cooks in I'm starting to see issues on my 560. On top of having odd open-not-open signaling, I have a grease leg leak at the front left of the smoker down the leg. Anybody run into this? In the future I'll have a grill mat under it, but for now I'd like to...

    Filled up the 560

My lamb rib attempts on the 560, 3 in counting, have all been winners. Those looks like winners too! So pink inside!

    MB Gravity Series Mods review

I like Tom Horsman, but but that mod seems useless. The smoke doesn't come out of that part of the smoker. I suppose at best it serves as a double walled insulation against fat drippings. It's a real shame the grill handles so poorly with grease. I have issues with grease dripping out of the...

    Hi from Alabama

BigW., I've been pretty lucky in the grill dept if we're being honest. Started with the WSM 14 'R2D2' unit & outgrew it quick. Managed to pick up a few early grills second hand to reduce overall costs. The ones that were lost went into funding(insurance) the Battle Box & Weber 22. Decided to go...

    Build a gravity fed smoker

Wow, what a freaking unit! Thanks for sharing all the pics. I wish to have your fab skills (and work space) some day! I'm a huge fan of Insulated Vertical Smokers. Would be happy to give that big green beast a home!

    Hi from Alabama

Hey folks, Found this forum not too long ago and decided to join. Need more BBQ folks in my life & this looks like a good place to do it. The forum activity & diversity seems like a good fit. I've been smoking for ~4 years at this point. I've had a WSM 14, Weber Gasser, OK Joe Bronco, and KJ...
