Looking for ideas for a Brick Pit build.

Might do that route if we go for a dedicated fire pit or if we end up being ok with having it not centered with the patio. If we do go with a fireplace/heat source for the smoker, probably going to need 4 baffles in total. Fireplace door, fireplace chimney, path to smoker from fire, path to...

Looking for ideas for a Brick Pit build.

I'm in the the process of buying a home that looks like they abandoned plans for some kind of build in Grill in the back yard. We haven't closed yet, so not going to get too far ahead of myself with planning, so just looking for ideas and maybe for someone with experience to shoot down some of...

    Looking to get an offset

Have you looked around locally for a 2nd hand one? Might be able to get a solid older one in your price range.

Using JB Weld Extreme Heat instead of welding....

Made a quick and dirty/poorly welded, but solid Charcoal Basket over the weekend.

Using JB Weld Extreme Heat instead of welding....

The grill is orepre thin. Probably 4mm. From my limited reading/YouTube tutorial watching thinner 6013 sticks should work after enough practice. Any other suggestions/recommendations?

Using JB Weld Extreme Heat instead of welding....

Thanks for the suggestions. Decided to bite the bullet and get a small Arc Welder. Going to give that a go and hope I don't burn the house down.

Using JB Weld Extreme Heat instead of welding....

Thought about doing drilling the holes for the door, just wasn't sure if this would be an option. Not ideal, but really cheap and easy. My grill was a pain to get into my back yard, so its probably staying there till I move, but finding someone with a mobile welder might be pretty easy.

Using JB Weld Extreme Heat instead of welding....

So I'm looking to do some internal modifications to help make my smoker more heat efficient. Nothing extensive, but want to add a 1" lip around firebox's door to create something for it to seal against. Currently the door was just cut out of the side then put on a hinge, so it leaks a fair...

    New Smoker in Texas

Thanks! No worries with the grill ID. So far pretty solid success rate on smoking some steaks and chicken. Love the versatility of a side smoker when I just want to grill something. First rack of ribs just went on, well see how it goes later tonight.

    New Smoker in Texas

Greetings! I'm new to smoking, but have done a fair amount of grilling in the past. I live outside of Austin, TX. A friend of mine gave me an old Side Smoker Grill when they moved. No clue what make/model it is, nothing is branded. Its pretty simple, so doesn't really matter. But if anyone...
