Done resting and perfect timing for the game.
Always wondered…what is best if I know there will be leftovers. Shred all of it and put the leftovers away. Or only shred half, then put the chunks away? I usually shred all of it, but I know this time there will be a lot leftover. Curious if it’s...
Excellent links and knowledge. Thank you.
Internal is climbing back up (135 now), but this cook will now be longer than expected. More beer for me I guess.
So does the 140 rule really only apply when starting the cook? So once it hits 140 for x amount of time, you should be good if something like this happens?
My concern was that it dropped below 140 for what will probably be 4-5 hours.
Sorry, another one of these, but I am trying to understand.
Started pork shoulder yesterday at about 4:30 pm on the WSM. Because I didn’t trust the charcoal overnight, I moved it to my camp chef at 11:30 pm. It did hit 165, when I checked it at 2:30 am, but the flame went out (first time) right...
I shouldn’t have to do that honestly. Also there is nothing on the other side to get to them, so I couldn’t do bolts/nuts.
And....Masterbuilt is closed till Monday.
I can’t believe they sent this to me like this.
Well.... this has turned out awful. There were no instructions and I do not see how to remove the plate that holds the control panel on. I am attaching a picture of the “old” one.
So this is what showed up today. Looking at the picture, I am not sure how some of that transfers over. I am not home now to look at both. Ugh....
Anyone been through this before? Any tips/tricks I should be aware of transferring parts? Also, anything I should save from the old one? I guess the...
Well...I never did get an email stating it was shipped like I was told I would, and when I called yesterday, they said it hasn't shipped yet. Today though, I got a call from the house and it has arrived. But....it is truly only the body. No door, no inside (except the element I guess. that's...
Update - Looks like we are on track for a "return" with Masterbuilt. As mentioned above, I was asked to cut the cord and send in pictures, which I have done. Honestly, I was a bit uneasy doing that, thinking man...what a waste....and I really hope this works out. Anyway, I can update this thread...
That would be just fine and easy with me. Hopefully that is the case. I will keep everyone updated. Hopefully I hear back from Masterbuilt soon, as I want to get this thing going. Second option is exchanging at Sams.
Yep, it was on sale, and now out of stock online. So I was only offered a refund, which couldn't cover the price of a new unit currently. Which is why I was wanting to exchange it. Masterbuilt just offered a return process, but I am not sure how that works or how quick of a turnaround that is...
I don't know....all the cardboard boxes were still sealed, and things were zip tied, but the foam padding was loose and it didn't look like it was previously opened. Just a tangled mess. Who knows, maybe it fell off a lift or something. But the items inside were not secure, and there was...
Once I received the reply from Masterbuilt, ie, smoker should be fine, I replied back stating that the reply was highly surprising and extremely disappointing. That I have numerous choices and for one of their smokers to arrive in this conditions, with dents, scratches and divots, and nothing to...
Thanks everyone. I guess that will be my plan for this weekend. I will try to find or rent a truck and exchange it. Wanted to make sure I wasn't making a bigger deal about it then it was. Of course I wasn't happy about it, but I see now that I wouldn't be the only one.
I might try that. I know you guys are aware, but man, this thing is big. I had to cut the box down the side to slide it out. Guess I will bring a box cutter with me to Sams. Ha.
I was and am upset about it. I am somewhat concerned that if I do exchange it, the new one will have the same issue. Highly doubtful, but you never know. I think I will try to exchange it then. I wanted to initially, and with Sams, I should be able to take it back, fully assembled, no box...
Thanks. Yeah, that’s how I felt too. I called Sams and they said I would need to box it back up and they could have UPS/FedEx pick it up, but could only do a return because it’s out of stock.
I guess I could work on trying to take it back to a store if they have one in stock for exchange...
Hello. I ordered the MES40” Bluetooth smoker from Sams the other day and everything inside the smoker wasn’t secure and must have been banging around.
It’s pretty disappointing buying a new unit and having it arrive like this. I put it together and the racks too don’t sit flat, almost like they...
