Boston Butt Pulled Pork (Step by Step)

Well, one thing about the Jack pellets, they burn very quickly. Only got 8 hrs of smoke from a full tray AMNPS. They did burn completely. Had to reload.

Boston Butt Pulled Pork (Step by Step)

Thanks Bear. We loved you’re recipe as it is. That’s what makes trying something slightly different hard. I know what will turn out great.

Boston Butt Pulled Pork (Step by Step)

Smoking two butts today using this method. Wanna try the Jack Daniels pellets as I have a bag. Anyone try these for pulled pork? I’m second guessing myself that it might not turn out right.

What are the latest brisket prices?

Picked up a brisket here in SE Michigan, GFS, $2.49 as the poster above found. Girl said the sale ends the 9th, but she wasn't 100% on it. I'll get another one for the freezer I guess. Hoping to cook this one on Friday. It'll be my first try at brisket.

First Butt in the MES 40

Thanks. Trying to decide if I'm ready to attempt a brisket or not. Pretty big cut of meat to mess up. Worried I don't have getting the flavor into the meat down enough yet. The Butt had a real nice flavor to it using the Smoking Rub from Weber. The loin I did, the Walmart apple pie filing was...

First Butt in the MES 40

Followed Bears step by step, and it really is. My time and temps matched his within 5 minutes. Thank you Bear, it came out great. BTW, yes, I remembered to put the bottom drip tray back in.

Ribs in the new MES 40

Only issue so far is my Thermopro is reading 193 degrees. It's sitting on middle shelf near the window. Not sure if I should worry about that and crank up the temp on the MES. It's already at 255. When I seasoned it and did the loin, my Thermopro was 15 cooler than the reading on the MES. Very...

Ribs in the new MES 40

Tried Bears pork loins stuffed with apples, came out great outside of the filling needing more flavor. I won't buy the Great Value stuff anymore. Built the mailbox mod. Works awesome. Unsure what to use though to cover the exposed heating element. Using a pan to catch dripping right. Ow...

    What a bummer

Can you post a pic of the dent? Could be wiring is pinched/cut because of it. Or the dent pulled the wiring out of the sensor or light. The light not working is strange. Got my new one in and plugged it in while it's in the house to make sure it's working after reading about your misfortune...
