    Basic Pulled Pork Smoke

Good idea. Do I just lay the probe on the shelf?

    Baby back rib cooking time.

So the math is different than calculating cook time for a roast or brisket where the cook time increases by weight. I guess because all of the slabs will be about the same size. I think to be safe I will start a couple of hours early and check them at 5 hours. If they look good I'll pull them...

    Baby back rib cooking time.

I'm still new at smoking. I got pretty good results with one rack of ribs. 225 degrees for 5 hrs. If I want to cook 5 or 6 racks how long should that take. I'm going to cook ribs for mothers day and I want to make sure they are done in time for dinner. Thanks Gary

    Basic Pulled Pork Smoke

I'm sure your right. My concern is the long cook time for a 2.65lb roast.

In this case I was using both. The I used both this time just to test. The Masterbuilt thermometer read about ten degrees lower on average. Might have been due to placement. Don't remember the name of the third party thermometer that I have.

    Basic Pulled Pork Smoke

OK. I just tried my second pork shoulder in my Masterbuilt electric. It was not a complete success. This was small cut at 2.65lbs. It took 8 hours to get to 185 degrees at 225. I was shooting for pulled pork but we ended up with chopped pork. The flavor was good but the meat wouldn't pull at...

I have been wondering if I did actually under cook them. Can't say if the slab bent as I didn't pay much attention to that. Also I cut the slab in half to fit the smoker better. Next time I'll try for 5 or 6 hours and see how it goes. I've also been reading recipes that involve pulling the ribs...

So my Masterbuilt smoker does come with a built in meat probe thermometer that reads on the display as well as on a remote. Since it's electric it holds the smoker temp pretty close to where you set it. On the other hand I found out we have a great place here in town that sells BBQs and...

At this point I only have the thermometer that came with the Masterbuilt smoker. Should I invest in something better?

Hi All, Just registered. I bought a Masterbuilt 30" smoker on Friday. Tried smoking some ribs and pork chops on Sunday. Figured out that pork chops probably don't belong in a smoker. They came out way over cooked. I smoked both for 4 hours at 220 and the ribs were a little dry also. Not sure...
