Thanks for the tip. I'll do that. This will be the first time I've reheated an entire cook the next day. Usually I'm eating everything right off the smoker and only reheating a few leftovers.
We'll the party is today so it hasn't been eaten yet minus several bites from me and the family once I pulled it off the smoker yesterday. LOL!
I probably left these on a touch too long so they were a bit more tender than I was aiming for, but the flavor was really good. I'm constantly second...
Here's a few before and after pics of today's cook. Spares, boneless tips and drums. First time cooking all three. They turned out pretty solid overall!
Well it's Derby day here in Louisville, KY so that means it's time to throw some meat on the smoker! Today I'm smoking a flat with a new rub I came up with. I'll keep everyone posted on how it turns out. Here's a prep pic.
Thanks you all. 5 hours on the smoker brought it up to a 195 IT. Then I let it sit covered in the cooler for 2 hours before cutting. It's definitely one of my better efforts I've had a few that didn't come out as nice.
Thanks Groucho! Unfortunately I'm a big Cards fan so not feeling great, but a loss wasn't going to keep me from eating some tasty brisket. There's always next season!
It's only a 4lb flat. I'm hoping it won't turn into a game night meal. 128512
Yes Groucho I'm a glutton for punishment. I love brisket and am just too damn stubborn to let it beat me. I'll get it down one of these times.... hopefully!
It was just a salt, black pepper and paprika rub. This one is one I got a while back from someone my wife works with. I've used it before on butts and a brisket and they turned out with good flavor. Hopefully it works well this attempt too.
Threw on a brisket for the tourney games today. I switchedup my rub and am smoking with Pecan instead of my usual hickory. Hoping for a little better results than my last one! I'll keep you posted.
