Meijer has $0.99/lb. Pork Butt (Central Ohio at least)
Went to Meijer today, was hoping they might have their bone in pork shoulders on sale, maybe for $1.79/lb. or I have seen them for $1.29lb. once. Boy was I in for a surprise. $0.99/lb. pork shoulder. and they had TONS of them. Bought 4. 2 for Sunday, 2 go into the freezer... ps got curious... -
Injections for Pork Butts? Yes or No?
OK, so I am doing 3 bone in pork butts for super bowl tomorrow. all of them around the 8.5-8.8 lb. range. Question - Do you usually do, or recommend, an injection of some sorts in addition to the rub? Jeff's book does not mention one, the Weber Smoke book does. They recommend brown sugar... -

So I will say right off the bat I have not personally seen this price (nor have I gone to a store myself), I have read in many threads that Home Depot clearance inventory will vary from city to city and maybe store to store. They had 6 bags left, I bought them all. Was at the gas station at a Meijer's in Columbus. I have ZERO idea if other Meijer's have the same deal going etc. These were the standard Kingsford "blue bags".- krubby
