Masterbuilt Duel Pro - My first couple of weeks

Thatcho is correct...8 inch pan is what I use....my wife found one for me at a garage sale.  I just set mine on top of the supplied chip pan.  I'm thinking about rigging up something that will allow me to get rid of their chip pan completely. Happy Smokin!

Masterbuilt Duel Pro - My first couple of weeks

I've had the masterbuilt dual fuel 2 door model since May 2013. I've got to tell you...it makes smoking great meats very easy and thus enjoyable. Yes, I do admit feeling a bit wimpy using gas vs charcoal or wood, but so be it. When I cook pulled pork or ribs everything is eaten or saved for...

    Masterbuilt propane smokers

Good idea!  Do you tape off the propane burner? I have to admit, I LOVE the aroma of the well used smoker in the garage....

I have not cleaned off the inside walls...I figure that's the seasoning I want anyway. I clean the grills after each use.

First Smoke: Pork Back Ribs on a Masterbuilt Dual-Fuel

I've used Apple, Cherry and Peach with awesome results in my masterbuilt.  We didn't care for Hickory as much. I just got a bag of chips made from Jack Daniels barrels....REALLY looking forward to sampling those! Also, I've found it much easier to use the 8 inch cast iron skillet on top of...

    Masterbuilt propane smokers

I've had this smoker for 3 months now...absolutely love it! I have not installed a gasket around the door...don't need it...it's a very tight fight. As for the door hinge, I had an issue there as well... When it came the hinge had been welded in the wrong position, which allowed for a 3/8...

    Masterbuilt propane smokers

Agreed...go with the 8" Cast Iron Pan...soooo much easier.  Set it on the pan that was supplied with the smoker...no foil. Get some kind of hot glove though so you can pull it out if/when needed.... One issue I do have is with the chips / chunks & the temp. I've noticed that if I have my temp...

    Maverick owners.....probe eyelet solution (Sealed)

Sweet.  Thanks!!  How do you like your Maverick?  It's on my wish list.  I tested the door mounted thermometer when I seasoned my smoker and it was surprisingly accurate. But I'm thinking it may have lost that.  And you can't beat the wireless thingy. Now I just have to figure out a way to...

    Q View! - CSR's from Last Weekend

So I got my new MasterBuilt Gas Smoker a couple of weeks back.  Seasoned last Saturday and went for something quick and easy first time out...Got some Country Style Ribs.  Coated 2 of them with yellow mustard and 2 with canola spray.  My honey doesn't care for mustard.  Then I used a commercial...

    Howdy from Hoosier Land

Hello All...  I'm Todd from Fort Wayne, Indiana...land of the Hoosiers and such. I've learned alot from this forum already. I started out with a Brinkmann charcoal offset smoker...made some great ribs with it, but just didn't do too well with the charcoal.  Had a difficult time keeping the...
