To everyone who uses a charcoal smoker this is the weekend to stock up on fuel!
I went to Lowes this morning and bought 4 bags of 16.6lb Kingsford blue bag for $4.24 each ($.25lb)
After loading them in the truck I hear a commercial on the radio for Home Depot.
I went to HD and bought 8 bags...
I've seen lamb breast as well but never knew what to do with them.
Buy leg of lamb and smoke them all the time and they are great but would love to hear some input about the the breast plate.
Chime in!
Absolutely!
I've left them in the cooler wrapped in towels alone for 2+ hours and they were great.
A couple weeks ago I did 2 10lb butts and started them at 11PM the night before pulled them off at 1PM the next day (14hours) double wrapped in foil and towels, then added a heat pack (Pyrex...

Have him shoot me a PM and I'll give him the number of my new supplier in south Denver.
Last week I bought hickory, pecan, cherry, apple and maple.
Very reasonable price!
Would be less than an hour drive from the springs.
Not to correct you at all!You are right you can build one for cheap. Some people dont want all the bells and whistles. We just decided that if we were going to put the time in we would trick it out. That's what drove our costs. We got very nice casters, more expensive thermos, 3 nice ball valves...
Agreed, I know we spent close to that on our tailgating UDS' maybe more. The thing is some people don't want to deal with building one or have the skills or tools. I think if it comes with 3 grates, thermo, casters, handle and charcoal basket and you have $200 to spend do it.
I have a membership to both and shop at both often, both have quality meat.
For my family it depends on what we are buying.
We prefer the Ribs, Ribeyes, Tritips, Seafood and Flank steaks at Costco's.
At Sam's we like their Chicken parts, Pork butts, pork Tenderloin and Ground beef better...
Thats $3.00 cheaper than here in Colorado, wonder if its on sale, better go check it out.Last year they had a sale on the same bags for $9.98, bought 10 bags!
