205-210 temp when I pulled. Resting in my little Tupperware. I am letting rest 20 mins then cut them into 1/3rds and freezinf
I already ate one and was delicious.
This is only my 3rd time making ribs
Got the side vents about 70% open, and top 100% open. Temp is steadily climbing, lost all the heat putting ribs into the cooker.
its 7pm. Gonna be done at like 2am lol but I will be up.
aiming for 225-250 for 6 hours I assume. No wrap.
How long do you think it would take to cook all the ribs...
Have you had issues smoking in winter at all? I have a thermostat wireless
Putting one in a rib and one on a grate.
where should I put the temp probe tomonitor the smoker temp? Below or in middle or above the ribs
do you leave the top vent open or partial closed
where should I put the temp...
I have had a few cooks, 4 before winter happened. I am interested in smoking some ribs today. It’s 25* out, I did put a lava rock gasket on the door to seal it this summer.
ive read people also bend the tabs on the side dampers to block those openings.
my question is, I never really knew what...
ha, it took a long time to get it right, had to go to the Home Depot a few times get a new gas line, a dedicated 5 foot extension and new regulator to reach my grille set up. I y splitter into my grille and smoker. worked out!
Turned out not too bad. I think next time will just put them without foil, kinda preferred them a bit more. just spray them with a little apple juice periodically. I will increase meat time from 5 to 6- 7 hours for a little more fall off bone. but was pretty tasty I just love fall off bone meat...
got them smoking right now. took me all day to get it up and running, started 5pm, 2 hours smoked, then foiled at 7pm, at 9pm gonna bbq them and 1 more hour. then donee
will post photos on how awful or good they turn out
I got my ribs tonight!. Had no idea which racks to buy, I stared at them blankly for 10 minutes trying to find the best looking marbling/least fat. but just grabbed one and called it good. 2.99 a pound, 28 bucks total 3 racks. Going to attempt this tomorrow. Going to do 2 of them in foil and one...
Thats not unreasonable. Do you let pork ribs rest at room temp before tossing in the smoker? or straight from fridge into the smoker.
do you smoke the entire time? I read 2-2-1 for example, I figure you would be smoking entire time, but I read one person at the 2nd two hour mark, just tossed in...
Thanks! I saw that clip but wasn't sure how id mount it.
I am going to gasket the door anyway, I figure if anything could help the efficiency of the fuel from escaping or letting drafting in. This will be a summer only type event, maybe a rack of ribs in winter if I get desperate.
30lb tank...
Where would I set the 2nd probe hang for air temp on the center rack? I am leaning towards the thermapen brand, dual probe.
If I have the 2-3 racks inside the smoker with a rib on each going left to right. do all 3 cook at the same temperature generally? or do they have widely varying temps...
One very big question! I have 30lb propane tank, and bought a y splitter to make this work for now. but if I really enjoy my smoker I will probably convert this to a natural gas set up, and get a new NG grille as well.
I was quoted 2000 bucks to run a 40 foot gas line from my back up generator...
I have a instant thermapen, paid like 100 bucks for it like 6 years ago, works great for my steaks and such, but I figured one that stays in the ribs would be ideal for a smoker as you dont want to let the smoke out unless needed, I will drop the cord through top vent, didnt even think about...
Thank you. Have any opinion on a recoenndation for a probe set? should I just have the wires go through crack of door (or I can make a small slit if I install gaskets)
Anyone recommend sams club or costco baby back ribs? I think the ones I saw are called Swift premium bb ribs,. 2.99 a pound...
Thank you!
I am looking into thermo probes right now.
Between these two, which would you guys rock or have suggestions? Since I have 3 ribs in a pack, leaning towards the 4 probe model but I really like thermpopro as a company, have their temp pens and stuff. but the Enzoo is 1# best seller on...
Alright, I havnt even received my smoker yet. It arrives Saturday. I ordered the following. A smoke vault 24, a cover for it, high temp gasket for the door to help keep in smoke (read it online) and Traeger wood pellets from costco. I am going to buy some treated plywood to make a square to put...
