Marty,
I'll tell you what I know.
It came from one of the 3M kitchens and it is old
Outside dimensions are:
50" W X 62 " T ( Not counting the legs) X 29" Deep
Inside Dimensions are:
39" W X 54" T X 18" D
The walls are approx 5" thick and there are two layers of fiberglass in each wall. I am...
No it is very, very thin aluminum, I am replacing that with a heavier material, either aluminum or stainless, not sure which at this time, and since I will have the whole thing taken apart, I am going to replace the insulation. Don't feel safe with the older formeldehyde filled fiberglass.
Yes it will be outside, and yes the shell is watertight. I find I can keep my smoker's internal temps steady with insulation, especially on colder days.
Hey Marty,
I know what you mean about gas prices, I made my move a month and 1/2 ago, now I have to go back to Mn. and get my boat and a few things still in my shed, I am not looking forward to paying for all that gas, just for a weekend trip..
I knew you had a few smokers but after seeing...
I am in the process of tearing apart an old commercial freezer to convert into a smoker. It is insulated with fiberglass, which I am assuming because of it's age probably contains formeldehyde, I want to replace this with something a little safer, and that can withstand smoker temps.
Any...
Thanks guys, I will light up a piece of wood to see if it smells any good, maybe try smoking a hamburger to see if it will work.

I am currently in the process of cutting down all of the russian olive trees on my property,(30 down, 35 to go), and I got to thinking, can this be used for smoking? Has anyone ever tried it?
Well,

Marty,
You will be closer to me, once I get moved out to Montana, Only a month and a week or two to go, I bought 23 acres and I am putting up a 28 X 40 polebarn that I will dedicate a 14 x 15 area for my food processing area, Hopefully, I will have it all done before next fall.

I don't brine my pork chops before they hit the smoker.
I season them with a rub not unlike MAVADAKI's rub posted a few threads back, Hang the pork chops in the smoker with applewood (or your choice of wood) for 2 1/2 to 3 hours at 150 to 180 deg, until they look done, spray with apple juice...
Big Arm,
I will be in Hardin, Montana.
Crownovercoke,
Have you ever tried Crown over OJ? When I lived in Arizona I did a lot of volunteering for the Fiesta Bowl Commitee, and once a year they had a party for the volunteers, to thank them for their efforts. They served Crown and OJ, to my...
