Hey Bearcarver...
that is a new one for me; it seems odd that it was in "spots" - if the process went bad, I would expect discoloration to be more uniform. I don't know of any way to "know" that its ok after cutting out the spots (except to eat it, which seems kind of risky). Hopefully someone...
I like it! anyone have a 39' they want to donate?
my dad has an old Jaguar...what a great suprise it would be for him if I converted it into a smoker (of course he drives it right now, so it would have to be like that car makeover show "Overhaulin")...!!!
Hmmm.... I like the idea. I have a qt jar of whole mustard seed I might have to experiment with.
You just have to be careful with fresh ground mustard...a lot of it in one place can have a bitterness to it.
It might be good in added to a rub for pork butts too...
That is some NICE looking soil...(and great looking fish too, Bearcarver!). I am going to have to try raising some worms; we just bought a bag of miracle grow to start tomatoes, peppers etc and what we paid for doesn't look near as nice as what you and your worms created. Thanks for the "qview"!
Chicken looks awesome! love the color.
Your daughter is learning early! your story reminds me of my daughter...we were at my brothers about three yrs ago and my youngest daughter (then 9) came by while chasing a ball where my brother was watching me cook burgers and steaks on his new grill...she...

10 pound roast=5 lbs of ready to eat, with 4 oz/sandwich = 20 sandwiches.
Thats what we sell... for friends and family, the 4 oz thing goes WAY out the window! I have...
I say if you can dream it, have the tools and the skills, build it! for me, the process and what you learn along the way is most of the fun! I think your idea is completely feasable; dont forget to document your project...I would love to see it!
check out this link...
That is SAWEEEET!
I love the Rivets on that thing...it looks bullet proof! Its going to look like something off an old timy locomotive after a good coat of black paint.
Good luck with your new venture!
going shopping in the morning... my favorite place to buy pork is running a sale on pork butt for $.99/lbs - going to stock up with 100lbs! I am guessing there will be a deal on corned beef and hopefully brisket as well...
SCORE!
My friend gave me a barrel today that has no liner!!! the inside is shiny and clean! It has a closed top...it appears to me that if I were to go around the outside edge of the seem or roll where the lid and the drum meet that the lid could then still be used and would "seat" down into...
Here is another option for the exhaust...this is a 4" exhaust stack; I made this mod several years ago and it works great! I started to cut off the stock exhaust and weld the hole, but discovered it is nice to have it as an option, especially when getting the fire started-once cooking it stays...
