and am ready to smoke. Apparently the thermometer probe wires (have the 732) come up and out the air vent at the top of the electric smoker- correct? Also I would like to ask how high does the temp need to be to create smoke ( will it smoke at 225?). Thanks...
I canceled the smoker grill and am gong to pick up a Masterbuilt electric 30" smoker tomorrow. Does anyone know if I,m going to need the Maverick 732 thermometer with this smoker? If not, I will have one for sale. Thanks- Paul
After spending a considerable amount of time on this forum, I'm thinking I wish I had bought and electric smoker and a cheap gas grill. I may be able to cancel this order out and I might go that way- any recommendations? Thanks- Paul
I'm assuming I would have the gas turned off at the tank when not using and to use it only when lit when combining propane cooking and charcoal cooking- correct? Thanks, Paul

I have a combination grill/charcoal/smoker coming- what would be the easiest meat for me to try to smoke 1st. Can you smoke just using the firebox or do you need to add charcoal to the grill also?
In the meantime what other apparatus do I need. I've had many grills in the past but never had a one that had a decent thermometer on it- do I need to buy a thermometer What other gear do I need to help me become a decent smoke chef? Paul
